Basic steps

  • Connect to CLAS  on-line monitoring   and  go to LAC histos (option 6)
Scan ADC (options 1-3) and TDC channels (options 2-4)
  • From histograms you can argue the status of LAC according to:
1 holes in the same channel for both ADC and TDC plots: Dead PMT or HV off  check HV status
2 single hole in TDC plot only: TDC or discriminator channel dead, or disconnected cable record on log-book
3 group of 16 holes in TDC plot only: Dead discriminator  record on log-book and call LAC expert
4 group of 64 holes in TDC plot only: Dead TDC board  record on log-book and call LAC expert
5 single hole in ADC plot only: ADC channel dead  record on log-book
6 group of 16 holes in ADC plot only: disconnected cable record on log-book and call LAC expert
7 group of 64 holes in ADC plot only: Dead ADC board record on log-book and call LAC expert
8 hot ADC channels: pedestal uncorrect   re-load ADC pedestals (ask DAQ)
9 hot TDC channlels: discriminator's threshold uncorrect  re-load discriminator thresholds

check PMT HV status

  • connect to HV as described here (serial connection)
  • scan all the 4 HV Caen crates and locate the corresponding channel:
  • try to switch on and off the channel: when the PMT is working current should be about 500 uA

TDCs discriminators threshold download

  • run diman
  • choose set channels from file  option
  • click the exit button.
