Connect to the caen1 serial node, then hit
return another time. You will get a menu like this (MAIN MENU, if you see a CAEN LOGO like
described later hit return again):

Hit C for CRATE:
you will be asked for a crate number. Type the crate number you want to switch on (between
1 and 4, typically you will want to check ALL of them and put the channels back on
sequentially, doing one crate at a time). Then hit key D for DISPLAY. You will get the
following page, which is showing one 16-channel-board (called page in this menu, board or
page numbers start from 0 and HV channel numbers go from 0 to 15):

The page could look like this, namely some channels or all channels are
off (trip condition). The underlined XXX will be highlighted (make sure that the LAST xxx
field is highlighted: this correspond to power switch).
Now simply hit the 1 (one) key on the keyboard (NO RETURN),
then hit S again to return to the previous page without the XXX. Now you should see the
channels going up and being back on. You can browse the other boards (pages) in the crate
hitting P for PREVIOUS and N for NEXT. When you are done and you see all HVs ON you can go
back hitting Q (QUIT) and choose another crate with C from the main menu. To exit from the
main menu hit Q again. You will see the CAEN logo
Keep control key down and hit "\" (backslash) to return to
the LATSRV> prompt.
Now simply type logout and return and you are done.
If the previous procedures don't work or if you suspect another problem
that you cannot understand or solve (like groups of dead electronic channels as seen in
the monitoring histograms, etc.), try to reach the LAC people through the following list.
