Abstract Submission & Program

Any contribution on subjects within the scope of the conference is welcomed . Authors are requested to online submission of the abstracts no later than July 15, 2016, according to the instructions on this page. Authors will be informed on both the acceptance of their contributions and the kind of presentations (oral or poster) by July 22, 2016.

Abstracts of all accepted contributions will be published in the Book of Abstracts that will be distributed to all participants during registration. Please, note that only abstracts of registered participants will be included in the proceedings and in the book of abstracts.

For the abstract submission, please, go to the web address at the URL (or use just a link):

https://agenda.infn.it/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=10663

If you do not have already an account at the INDICO system, first you have to create your own account that will be unique everywhere and valid for further personal use.

Once you are logged in to the site, to submit an abstract choose "New Submission", and then compile all necessary fields. The title with the list of authors and the short abstract in plain text should be completed in the reported form to provide necessary information to the organizers to define scientific program of the conference. The abstract form limits your short abstract to 100 words.

Once you have submitted one or more papers, you can access to your submission/s as well as edit or add corrections or upload a new version of your abstract(s) until the abstract deadline.

Additionally the abstract must be submitted as pdf-file according to the Channeling 2016 template (doc and LaTeX available on the page Downloads & Dates). Please notice that abstract length must be limited to one A4 page as indicated in the template. Once ready, please, send the abstract as attached file/s via e-mail channeling2016@lists.lnf.infn.it

The scientific program of the conference will include invited presentations by the experts in the field of the Channeling 2016 topics, selected oral presentations, and poster sessions.

The conference will start with the Channeling Primer session together with the registration and followed at the end of the session by welcome mixer on Sunday afternoon September 25 at the conference hall PALACREBERG SIRMIONE (Piazzale Europe, 5, 25019 Sirmione - Brescia). The Primer session will include some formal greetings by the Organizers together with the officials of the Comune di Sirmione del Garda.

The participants are invited to take part in two mini-workshops to be held within the Channeling 2016 scientific program:

  • The mini-workshop Simulation Techniques for Particle Dynamics in Ordered Structures. Chairs: M. Breese (SSLS NUS, Singapore), V. Guidi (UniFe, Ferrara)

    • The demand for more performing techniques to track the dynamics of particle in ordered structure is becoming even more impelling because of the new horizons for highest-energy particle steering. Monte Carlo simulation of particle dynamics in crystal is powerful tool for the design of crystals with optimized performance and to aid the analysis of experimental results. Current modeling of coherent interactions with the atoms of a crystal and of incoherent interaction with individual atoms need refinement and comparison with experimental observable. The workshop aims at highlighting the state of the art on simulation resources and its comparison with experimental results that could result to new proposals for dedicated experiments to focus on key parameters to improve simulation codes.
  • The 8th AGTaX - Advanced Generation of THz and X-ray beams mini-workshop. Chair: A. Aryshev (KEK,Tsukuba).
The AGTaX is organized by KEK, MEPhI and University of Oxford. The Organizing Committee is formed by Dr. A. Tishchenko (MEPhI) (e-mail: tishchenko@mephi.ru ), and Dr. I. Konoplev (University of Oxford) (e-mail: ivan.konoplev@physics.ox.ac.uk ).

    • Generation and Characterization of Intense THz Beams
    • THz Detection including THz Imaging
    • THz-GHz Periodical Structure Simulation and Experimental Studies
    • THz Application - Compton Scattering
    • X-ray Imaging

On Monday, September 26, morning the scientific program will start with a welcome by the officials of the Comune di Desenzano del Garda at SALA ACQUAVIVA of theHOTEL ACQUAVIVA DEL GARDA, and continue through the week with a mixture of oral and poster sessions, as well as specialized round tables. The program will continue until lunchtime Friday, September 30, and will be concluded by the closing session..

After lunch on Wednesday, September 28 there will be an excursion, and the conference dinner is planned for Thursday, September 29 evening.

Overhead, slide and video projector linked to a PC will be available. In case of PC presentation the files of the PowerPoint (or pdf) format should be loaded t the PC provided by the organizers before the session of the talk. You may bring your own computer; however, the accessibility should be checked before the session of your report.

Posters should be presented during the whole working day of your poster session defined by the technical program. The size of the display area for a poster is 80 cm in width and 100 cm in height.
