KLOE Paper Guidelines
There are five classes of papers related to KLOE,
in the following we describe what they are,
who is to sign them and what procedure is to be followed
with regard to the editorial board.
In all cases a paper copy must be deposited with M.Cristina D'Aamato and
another given to Juliet Lee-Franzini.
1) KLOE MEMOS
Anyone working on or consulting with KLOE
is entitled, and is encouraged to write "internal memos"
to communicate to the rest of the collaboration specific
information of interest to KLOE. The procedure is to write
the memo, submit it on WWW
in the "private KLOE area"
which will assign you a number, ask you for a ps file,
and also if available, an html file to make it available on the web.
Since this is not a public document, the KLOE editors are not involved.
However, all subsequent upgrading demands that the document
begins as a Kloe Memo.
2) KLOE NOTES
Since Kloe Note #137, a Kloe Note is a
Kloe Electronic Publication,
will appear and be available in the "public KLOE area".
To become a Kloe Note, the Kloe Memo is submitted to the
KLOE Editor-in-Chief who'll give it to one or more KLOE editor,
or a guest editor if the subject is highly specialized, to judge
its physics and technical content, recommend whether it is
suitable KLOE publication, and if yes, make suggestions of changes
for its final form.
The Note may be signed by partial members of
subgroups but the authors should also canvas opinions amongst the
subgroups involved to ascertain that appropriate names have not
been left out. The final html and ps files will be entered into
the KLOE public area by the KLOE WWW coordinator.
3) KLOE SUBDETECTOR NIMS, PHYSICS LETTERS, and LNFNOTES
(in other words, paper publications)
A Kloe Note, or several of them, may contain enough information
to warrant a paper publication. The manuscript must now be signed
by the whole subgroup and/or subgroups involved.
Of course the manuscript must go through the whole review process
with the editorial board, who will not only review the physics
and technical aspects of the paper, but also the appropriateness
of the authors' list and acknowledgments. For example, technical
supports are to be acknowledged in detail, but usually technicians
do not sign the papers.
4) KLOE GENERAL PHYSICS PAPERS, LNFNOTES, and NIMS
(including proposal, addenda to the proposal)
A KLOE GENERAL paper as defined above, must be signed
by the Whole Collaboration, using the current
Kloe Author list.
The editors in this case all participate in the writing,
review process, and of course, also sign the paper.
5) INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARLY PAPERS germane to KLOE
(Including THESES: laurea, dottorato, PhD..)
In this case, ALL authors are urged to acknowledge KLOE appropriately,
for example, for figures and other information obtained from KLOE
PUBLICATIONS, or from WWW KLOE PAGES.
