           Position in Experimental Particle Physics

The ZEUS group of the Faculty of Physics of the University Freiburg
has the opening for a position for experimental high energy
physicists for the ZEUS experiment at the electron-proton
storage ring HERA, at DESY, Hamburg. The temporary position

           "Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Verg.Gr. BAT IIa)",

is financed by the German Minister of Science, starting with the
1. May 2000.

Tasks are the participation in the running of the ZEUS detector,
the participation in its upgrade program, and the analysis
of data from the ZEUS detector. Some teaching at the University
is required, the residence will be mostly in Hamburg, however.

For the position a PhD in experimental particle physics or
an equivalent University degree is required. Desirable are
experiences in the field of particle detectors, in the operation
of detector components and in the physics analysis of data from
particle physics experiments.

Interested candidates are asked to send the usual information (CV,
list of publications, exam grades, the name of three referees and
possible starting date) to

Prof. Dr. A. Bamberger
Universitaet Freiburg
Fakultaet fuer Physik
Hermann-Herder-Str. 3
D-79104 Freiburg Tel. +49 761 203-5714

until 30 March 2000.

The University of Freiburg is seeking to increase the proportion
of female research staff and therefore particularly welcomes
applications from female candidates.
