Spy documentation

The spy package was originaly created to provide an easy-to-use library for the extraction of elements from the circular buffer between the farm builder and the farm recorder.

Now, it is a more general purpose packege. It contains libraries that provide a unique interface to acquire events:

• from a circular buffer between a farm builder and a farm recorder
• from a remote farm machine (via the farm spy daemon )
• from a YBOS file

The package contains six distinct pieces, grouped in three main blocks:

• the spy libraries
  • the standard spy library
  • the extended spy library (for special purposes only)
• the FORTRAN spy library
• the programs
  • the spy daemons (needed by the standard spy library)
  • monitoring programs for the spy daemons
  • some test and example programs
