Location and travel



travelling by plane

  • From Fiumicino Airport "Leonardo da Vinci" take the Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini central railway station (journey takes about 35 minutes, tickets are available at the Airport and cost 14.00 EUROS). From Roma Termini take a train to Frascati or Tor Vergata stations (see below in train sections for additional details).
  • From Ciampino Airport "Giovan Battista Pastine" take a bus (Schiaffini Travel or COTRAL) to Ciampino railway station (journey takes about 5-10 minutes, tickets are available at the airport and cost 1.10 EUROS). From Ciampino railway station take a train to Frascati or Tor Vergata stations (see below in train sections for additional details).
  • Alternatively, taxi rides (licensed white or yellow cabs) cost about 70.00 EUROS from Fiumicino Airport and 40.00 EUROS from Ciampino Airport.

travelling by train/buS 

  • From Roma Termini to Frascati Laboratories take the Roma-Cassino train (FM6) and get off at "Tor Vergata" ( journey takes about 20 minutes, tickets are available at newspaper kiosks and tabacconist for 1.50 EUROS). The LNF are 150 mt uphill from the train station on E. Fermi street.
  • From Roma Termini to Frascati downtown take the Roma-Frascati train (FM4) and get off at "Frascati" ( journey takes about 15 minutes, tickets are available at newspaper kiosks and tabacconist for 2.10 EUROS). The LNF are about 2 km away and is possible to take a taxi. Alternatively, take the underground linea A (ticket cost 1.50 EUROS) direction Anagnina to "Anagnina Station" and from there COTRAL bus to Frascati (about every 30 minutes).
  • From Ciampino railway station you can take both the Roma-Cassino train (FM6) to Frascati Laboratories or Roma-Frascati train (FM4) to Frascati downtown.
  • Alternatively, taxi rides (licensed white or yellow cabs) from Termini Station cost about 52.00 EUROS.

Travelling by car

Take the ring highway "Grande Raccordo Anulare" around Rome and from there take the exit 21-22 to "Tuscolana" state highway. Continue on via Tuscolana for about 10 km and then turn left at the first Frascati traffic lights on via Enrico Fermi. Continue to via Enrico Fermi 40 and find the Laboratories on your right.

 
  • The meeting will take place at the Frascati National Laboratories (LNF) of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). LNF are about 2 km from the center of Frascati, a small town located 20 km south-east of Rome on the Alban Hills, close to the ancient roman city of Tusculum. Frascati is renowned for its beautiful villas, built from the 16th century onwards by Popes, cardinals and Roman nobles as status symbols of their power, and for the wide variety of wines produced from an ancient tradition. Frascati is part of the "Castelli Romani", famous for their gastronomical, naturalistic and historical interest.
