The fields of research for these positions include: CP violation, K-decays, Chiral perturbation theory and radiative corrections to the hadronic electron-positron cross-section at DAPHNE.

In the following, interested applicants can find specific details related to some of the above fellowships.

Pre-Doctoral fellowships in Frascati/Rome (INFN)

One 18 months fellowship or two 9 month fellowships for young researchers working towards their advanced degree are available at the INFN Laboratory of Frascati (LNF) or at the nearby Universities of Rome. Research fields include CP-violation, K-decays, and radiative phi-decays.

Applications should be sent, preferably via e-mail, to Giula Pancheri (INFN-Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, P.O.Box 13, I-00044 Frascati, Italy, pancheri@lnf.infn.it).

Pre- and Post-Doctoral fellowships in the U.K.

(i) One 6 month postdoctoral position and (ii) periods of study by one or more graduate students registered at a university within the EU outside the U.K., for up to a total of 15 months, are available in Britain at either the University of Durham, Manchester or Oxford or at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. The choice of host institution depends on the specific area of research in hadron physics or hypernuclear interactions.

Please apply to both G. Pancheri at LNF and M.R. Pennington at Durham (Physics Department, University of Durham, Durham DH1 3LE, U.K., m.r.pennington@durham.ac.uk).

Post-Doctoral fellowship in Marseille

A two year post-doctoral position will be available at the Centre de Physique Theorique on the Luminy campus in Marseille. This position is open for young European physicists working on phenomenological aspects of the standard model at low energies. The senior members of the CPT group involved in EURODAPHNE are P. Chiappetta, M. Knecht, L. Lellouch, M. Perrottet and E. de Rafael. The main fields of interest are:

Candidates interested in these fields are invited to send their applications to E. de Rafael (Centre de Physique Theorique, CNRS Luminy, case 907, F-13288 Marseille Cedex 9, eder@cpt.univ-mrs.fr). The position should begin before March 1, 2000. The deadline for the applications is December 31, 1999

Post-Doctoral fellowship in Valencia

One post-doctoral position in theoretical physics is available at the Department of Theoretical Physics (IFIC) in the University of Valencia (Spain). The position is for 1 year, starting in in the fall of 2000, non-renewable. It is open for young European physicists working on Effective Theories of QCD and/or Electroweak Theory.

Candidates are invited to send their applications to G. Pancheri at LNF and A. Pich at Valencia (Antonio.Pich@uv.es)

Post-Doctoral fellowship in Barcelona

A 12 (+3) months post-doctoral position is available at the Physics Departments of the Universities of Barcelona (UAB and/or UB), within the EURODAPHNE TMR network working till March 31th 2002. This position is open to young European physicists working on phenomenological aspects of hadron physics at low energies.
The senior members of the Barcelona group involved in EURODAPHNE are L. Ametller, E. Bagan, A. Bramon, D. Espriu, S. Peris, J. Taron. The main fields of interest are: i) Chiral perturbation theory, ii) vector meson physics.

Applications should be sent, preferably via e-mail, to Giula Pancheri (INFN-Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, P.O.Box 13, I-00044 Frascati, Italy, pancheri@lnf.infn.it).

Post-Doctoral fellowship in Vienna

One post-doctoral position in theoretical particle physics is available at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the University of Vienna (Austria). The position is for 1 year, starting in in the fall of 2000, non-renewable. It is open for young European physicists working on chiral perturbation theory and/or nonleptonic and rare kaon decays.

Candidates are invited to send their applications to G. Pancheri at LNF and to G. Ecker in Wien (Institut Theor. Physik,Univ. Wien Boltzmanng. 5, A-1090 Wien, Austria, ecker@merlin.ap.univie.ac.at)

Post-Doctoral fellowship in Zeuthen

A Postdoctoral Position in Particle Physics is available at DESY Zeuthen/University of Karlsruhe. The position is for 18 month. The position is open for young European physicists working on phenomenological aspects of the Standard Model at low energies in particular radiative corrections for high precision measurements of hadronic cross sections in e+e- annihilation at energies below 2 GeV. Close collaboration with the experimental groups involved in the subject is expected. The salary will be comparable to a DESY Fellowship.

Candidates are invited to send their applications to F. Jegerlehner (DESY Zeuthen, Platanenallee 6, D-15738 Zeuthen, Germany, fjeger@ifh.de). Deadline for applications: January 15, 2000

RULES FOR THE APPOINTMENTS OF YOUNG TRAINEES:

Before applying please read the eligibility conditions
