V2O3 has been the subject of wide theoretical and experimental investigations for more than 40 years, in particular after its identification as the prototype of Mott-Hubbard systems. Despite the quantity of experimental data available and the amount of theoretical studies that followed, its structural, electronic and magnetic properties are still object of intense scientific debate. The present seminar is dedicated to an overview of the most recent experimental and theoretical results and a possible interpretation of the phase diagram of V2O3.
