UPDATE OF KLOE RULES FOR APPROVAL OF PRELIMINARY/FINAL RESULTS
TO BE PRESENTED/PUBLISHED
(BLESSING PROCEDURE)
The following steps are to be followed:
I) PRELIMINARY RESULT
I-a) The Working group, led by the conveners, approves the initiation
of the blessing procedure for a new result.
I-b) The author(s) of the analysis gives(give) a detailed presentation
on the subject (seminar style) in an open meeting (*).
One week before the presentation a written documentation (**)
has to be circulated by posting on KLOE web and notifying KLOE all of
its presence.
I-c) After the above presentation, the information should be transformed
to a note (in conference style like, for example, the ones prepared for
ICHEP-2004, KLOE notes n.195, 196) including figures and plots.
This material is subjected to revision by the referees (nominated by the
Policy Board) and then it is circulated for approval/comments
to the whole collaboration.
I-d) After the approval the result become public as "KLOE preliminary
result" and the document becomes a KLOE note (***).
Any subsequent KLOE presentation to conference/seminar etc.. on the
subject must refer to it, and only to it.
II) FINAL RESULT
II-a) The final result of the analysis is presented by the author(s)
in an open meeting (*), with the corresponding updated written
documentation (**) circulated one week prior.
II-b) After the presentation a note and paper, including final
figures and plots, are prepared by the author(s).
They are revised by the referees and then circulated for
approval/comments
to the whole collaboration.
II-c) After the approval the result become public as "KLOE final result"
and the document becomes a new KLOE note (***).
Any subsequent KLOE presentation to conference/seminar etc.. on the
subject must refer to it, and only to it.
II-d) Submission of paper for publication by the author(s) follows
regular procedures as all past KLOE papers (acknowledgements, Senior
editors review, etc.).
(*) An open meeting is a KLOE general meeting (KGM), a KLOE physics
workshop (KPW), or a specially invoked "blessing meeting". The meeting
agenda should specify which presentations are to be blessed as
preliminary or final results.
(**) a KLOE memo or, minimally, a good quality self-explanatory set of
transparencies justifying the result.
(***) The responsibility of the correctness of the paper content lies
with the author(s) and referees.
