Summary of Recommendations 11th Meeting of the LNF Scientific Committee November 8th, 1995 (N.Cabibbo chair, P.Campana, M.Calvetti, S.Cittolin, C.Fabjan, J.Haissinski, H.J.Hilke, E.Iarocci ex officio, A.Wagner) FINUDA The collaboration made good progress in the further development both of the detector components and of the event simulation. According to the time schedules presented the FINUDA experiment will be ready for data taking as soon as the machine commissioning is finished. In order to ensure this, the Committee makes the following recommendations: the manufacturing of the magnet and of the cryogenics should be monitored closely by a competent team of engineers. As the relevant know-how is not available inside the collaboration outside consultants should be involved; the ordering, manufacturing, delivery and commissioning of the cryogenic plant needs to be monitored very closely as a delay with respect to the planned delivery before the end of 1996 might cause a serious interference with the commissioning of DAFNE and FINUDA; more work is needed to understand the performance, noise sensitivity, long term stability and reproducibility of the HPD's. The collaboration is asked to present to the Committee the results of the relevant tests as soon as possible; the timely completion of the silicon detectors is strongly dependent on the availability of the necessary manpower. The collaborating institutes are requested to ensure that this manpower be made available; the collaboration is requested to provide a detailed time schedule for installation and debugging of the detector after the arrival of the magnet at LNF and to clarify possible interferences with the commissioning of DAFNE; the collaboration is invited to present a study for the mechanical design and construction of the Helium bag; a final design of the beam pipe with all details connected to the interference of the FINUDA detector and the machine is required very soon.
