November 30, 1998.  The first parts of the final DEAR setup have been installed in the interaction region: the beam pipe (250 mm aluminium, carbon fiber  reinforced) - built after a plan of Hannes Zmeskal and realized by a joint venture of five firms coordinated by himself - and the lower platform of the setup. Baking of the interaction region is planned to be performed in next days.
