Air Transportation
The most convenient way to come to Rome is to fly to Fiumicino Airport “Leonardo da Vinci” There are many international carriers which fly directly to the airport from major cities all over the world. There are trains which go directly to the train station Roma Termini which is Rome downtown (timetable). or to the other train stations in the city (timetable). There’s also another airport in Ciampino but only charters land there and there are buses going to Rome downtown.A complimentary shuttle bus service is available for Sheraton Hotel guests (more info here)
Means of Transport in Rome
The Conference hotels in downtown Rome are within at most a 20 minutes subway ride plus about 5 minutes walk to the Conference Hall. There will be a shuttle bus between the site and the EUR Zone hotels: 07:30-08:30, 18:30-19:30.

Currency
ATM cashing service for credit cards is generally available in Italy. Anyway participants are recommended to exchange their cash or travelers’ checks to Italian Lira at the airport on arrival. Over the last year the exchange rate has been US$ 1.00= 2000 Italian Lira.

Rome is called the eternal city and it can be considered an open air museum from the Coliseum to the Capitole and from the Pantheon to Piazza Navona just to give a few examples. Trastevere is a nice area for restaurants and pubs.Conference Site

It is quite easy to get there by subway, line B, get off at EUR MAGLIANA stop. Summer in Rome could be hot . The temperature often goes up to 35° C during daytime (weather info). Conference rooms and hotels are generally well air conditioned.
