Abstract:
We present a concise review of the status of neutrino masses and mixings.
After a short review of the data on neutrino oscillations, we interpret the
smallness of neutrino masses as arising from the Majorana nature of neutrinos
and the large scale associated with lepton number L non conservation. We
discuss the implications of non vanishing neutrino masses and of L non
conservation. We then review theoretical ideas and models compatible with the
observed pattern of neutrino masses and mixings.
