Extremely interesting and generally away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city, the southernmost hill of Rome, flanking the river's left bank, affords some fascinating and popular views, especially over the Circus Maximus and St. Peter. Although it is quiet and largely residential, the Aventine has some of the most interesting sites of historical interest, such as the very ancient Basilica of Saint Sabina (5th century). At the end of the visit you will be free to stroll around, look for some typical Trattoria where to have dinner, and return to LNF and Frascati by train on your own.
