The world community has recognized that the project of a 1 TeV e+e- Linear Collider is worthwhile to pursue. This project will be the common effort of worldwide accelerator communities. Scientific panels charged with studying future directions for particle physics in Europe, Japan and the United States have concluded that it would be a compelling and unique scientific opportunity.

ITRP International Technology Recommendation Panel

The ITRPrecommended the Superconducting Technology  for the TeV e+e- Linear Collider.

The First ILC Workshop was held at KEK (Japan) from 13 to 15 November 04.

The goal of the Workshop was to facilitate the worldwide formation of an international design team (GDI) and to initiate the work for the ILC after the choice of the cold RF technology.

Towards Snowmass

 

A Second ILC Workshop will be held from 14 to 27 August 05 at Snowmass, USA.  The organization of the First Workshop - Program Committee and Working Group conveners - will prepare the Snowmass workshop while the GDE Central Team is being formed.
